I think these findings say just as much about our own evolutionary entrapment as about the exquisite selection process in dogs. It is sad that our species is so shallow, so narcissistic, and so in awe of our own form rather than the substance of other living beings, that other beings have to evolve expressions that make them look like us to improve their chances of survival.
