The Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO) will offer a one-hour webinar entitled "The Implementation of WIPO Standard ST.26" on July 14, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm (ET). Anish Gupta, PCT Legal Examiner-International Patent Legal Administration, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; Wayne Jaeschke of Johnson & Johnson; Hanna Kang, Legal Officer, PCT Legal and User Relations Division, World Intellectual Property Organization; and Mary Till, Senior Legal Advisor in the Office of Patent Legal Administration (OPLA), U.S. Patent Trademark Office will address the implementation of the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) Standard ST.26 and discuss the changes to sequence listings filed in patent applications that contain disclosures of nucleotide and/or amino acid sequences. WIPO Standard ST.26, requiring XML formatting, went into effect worldwide on July 1, 2022. The panel will provide guidance on how you will be able to prepare and submit a compliant sequence listing in U.S. patent applications and PCT applications filed on or after July 1, 2022.
