The Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO) will offer a one-hour webinar entitled "Artificial Intelligence: Patentability and Inventorship in Europe" on July 1, 2020 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm (ET). Mike Jennings of AA Thornton, Tobias Kaufmann of Bardehle Pagenberg, Heli Pihlajamaa of the European Patent Office (EPO), and James Signor of Leydig, Voit & Mayer, LTD will discuss how artificial intelligence (AI) patentability and inventorship are playing out in Europe. The panel will also discuss the following topics:
• Developments at the European Patent Office related to AI patenting
• The principles applied by the EPO when assessing AI patent applications and AI inventorship
