The impoverished state and ruined house of the Burns mouse may be contrasted with that of Michael musculus (Micky) who reached Hollywood and played a starring role in the cartoons of Walt Disney, ending up owning a magnificent villa overlooking Hollywood Beach and being honored by a star and paw-print on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He was followed by his family member Jerry musculus and by his companion Catus domesticus Tom who had similarly starring and lucrative roles with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer from the 1940's onwards. More recently Basil musculus also signed up with Disney and appeared in The Great Mouse Detective. Their successes illustrate not only the benefits that mice can derive from association with man but also the heights of achievement that can be reached by enterprising and hard-working American mice.

Congratulations to the authors for a well-researched and interesting paper.
