The Federal Circuit Bar Association (FCBA) will be offering a webcast entitled "From Chevron to Cuozzo Round II: A Closer Look at Administrative Law Issues in PTO Proceedings" on March 2, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm (EST). Andrew M. Mason of Klarquist Sparkman, LLP will moderate a panel consisting of Russell E. Cass of Sidley Austin LLP; Melissa N. Patterson, Attorney, Appellate Staff, Civil Division, U.S. Department of Justice; Molly Silfen, Office of the Solicitor, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; and Lucas C. Townsend of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. The panel will take a deeper dive into some of the specific cases and administrative law issues that arise in PTO proceedings, including the reviewability of PTAB institution decisions, PTO rulemaking, claim amendments in PTAB proceedings, and the requirement for due process / fair notice in PTO proceedings.
