The Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO) will offer a one-hour webinar entitled "USPTO and Section 101: New Examiner Guidelines" on May 18, 2016 from 2:00 to 3:00 pm (ET). Robert Bahr, Deputy Commissioner of Patent Examination Policy, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; Bart Eppenauer of Shook, Hardy & Bacon L.L.P.; and Michelle Holoubek of Sterne Kessler Goldstein and Fox will explain the agency's new policies on subject matter eligibility determinations and how the agency will encourage examiners to follow them. The panel will also review the recent Federal Circuit decision in Enfish v. Microsoft and other pending decisions that may cause the USPTO to further adjust its policies.
