The Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO) will offer a one-hour webinar on the "New USPTO Examination Guidelines for Myriad and Mayo" on March 20, 2014 beginning at 2:00 pm (ET). A panel consisting of Courtenay Brinckerhoff of Foley & Lardner; Duane Marks of Roche; and Raul Tamayo, senior legal advisor in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's Office of Patent Legal Administration (OPLA) will discuss the impact of the USPTO's Guidance For Determining Subject Matter Eligibility Of Claims Reciting Or Involving Laws of Nature, Natural Phenomena, & Natural Products on the patenting of drugs and of diagnostic methods, and consider how the guidelines will work in practice.
