Infringement of U.S. Patent Nos. 5,424,471 ("Crystalline Amifostine Compositions and Methods of the Preparation and Use of Same," issued June 13, 1995) and 5,591,731 ("Crystalline Amifostine Compositions," issued January 7, 1997) based on defendants' manufacture and sale of a generic version of MedImmune's Ethyol® (amifostine, used to treat xerostomia in patients receiving radiation therapy for head and neck cancer).
