Infringement of U.S. Patent No. 5,756,506 ("Single High Dose Fluoroquinolone Treatment," issued May 26, 1998) following the equivalent of a Paragraph IV certification as part of Norbrook's filing of its ANADA (Abbreviated New Animal Drug Application) to manufacture a generic version of Bayer's BAYTRIL® 100 (enrofloxacin injection, used for the treatment of bovine respiratory disease in beef and non-lactating dairy cattle). Infringement of U.S. Patent No. 6,254,887 ("Controlled Release Tramadol," issued July 3, 2001) following a Paragraph IV certification as part of Impax's amendment of its ANDA (adding additional dosage forms) to manufacture a generic version of plaintiffs' Ultram® ER (tramadol hydrochloride, used to treat moderate to moderately severe chronic pain).
