Speakers Robert J. Spar, former Director of the Office of Patent Legal Administration of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and John M. White, Director of Patent Professional Development of the Practising Law Institute, will address Wednesday's decision in the consolidated cases of
Tafas v. Dudas and
SmithKline Beecham Corp. v. Dudas
. While the original program schedule called for a discussion of the new continuation and claims rules, the revised program schedule calls for a discussion of the Court's decision and the impact of this decision on patent practice.
